Albanian Road Code Article 144: failure to obey road signals
Article 144 requires road users to follow road signalling and the directions of traffic police. Its highest fine applies to continuing to drive when a traffic light or a traffic police officer forbids it.

What article 144 requires
Every road user must behave as indicated by road signalling and by the traffic police officer, under articles 38 to 43 and the implementing acts of the Code (paragraph 1).
Fines
Paragraph 2 notes that the special measures under articles 6 and 7 of the Code are excluded from it.

- 1,000 to 3,000 lek for not following road signalling, the related rules or the directions of the traffic police (paragraph 2);
- 20,000 to 30,000 lek for a driver who keeps moving when a traffic light or a traffic police officer forbids it (paragraph 3).
Repeated breaches
If a driver repeats the paragraph 3 breach more than twice within two years, the driving licence is suspended for 9 to 12 months in addition to the fine (paragraph 4).
