Turning, lane changes and other manoeuvres: Albanian Road Code Article 152
Article 152 sets out how drivers must carry out manoeuvres such as joining traffic, changing lane or direction, turning, reversing, making a U-turn and stopping. Breaking any rule in the article is fined.

Before any manoeuvre
Under paragraph 1, a driver must make sure the manoeuvre creates no danger or obstruction for other road users, considering their position, distance and direction, and must signal the intention in good time.
- Manoeuvres are signalled with the direction indicators, kept on for the whole manoeuvre and switched off once it is complete (paragraph 2).
- The same lights are used to signal slowing down to stop (paragraph 2).
- If the vehicle has no such lights, the driver signals by hand (paragraph 2).
Turning, U-turns and prohibitions
- To turn right, keep as close as possible to the right edge of the carriageway (paragraph 3/a).
- To turn left, keep as close as possible to the centre of the carriageway and, at a junction, turn near its centre without entering the other road against the flow (paragraph 3/b).
- When making a U-turn or joining traffic, give way to vehicles moving normally (paragraph 3/c).
- Unnecessary use of the indicator is prohibited (paragraph 4), as is sudden braking or slowing during a manoeuvre (paragraph 5).
- U-turns are prohibited at or near junctions, bends and hill crests, and within 50 m of them (paragraph 6).
Fine under article 152
Anyone who breaks the provisions of this article faces an administrative fine of 1,000 to 3,000 lek (paragraph 7).
